This second module aims to illustrate how ageism influences our perceptions and feelings about ageing, to the extent that it can hinder the full participation and engagement of older adults in society. Additionally, it seeks to explore social relationships throughout the life course, examining the changes that occur and the varying understandings of different types of relationships. The module also highlights the significance and benefits of social connection for communities.
Finally, it presents several strategies that facilitators can adopt to make their communities more inclusive and to foster greater social participation.
