The FRIEND programme is directed to older adults, and it is implemented by facilitators, whose mission is to guide participants through a series of 7 sessions.
The 7 sessions of the FRIEND programme are organised in a structured and progressive way that goes from general considerations and concepts to inner goals and personal journeys. Each of the sessions is planned with specific activities and resources, and all the information required to implement those activities are available within the sessions’ plans and the FRIEND Manual. FRIEND facilitators need to read carefully the FRIEND Manual to adequately implement the programme, combining this with the activation of social skills. Moreover, as this is a personalistic learning programme, each time a Facilitator guides a group, the experiences and situations might differ. The often a Facilitator implements the programme with groups, the more proficient he/she will be.
